Sancho & Lola's Closet was started in 2015 by Texas native, Lynette Cano, who had a passion and mission to give back to local rescue communities so that abandoned dogs could find their forever homes. By 2016, her little boutique brand from super-ceded it's mission. They were donating to canine rescues and shelters all over the country!
When she adopted Sancho in 2011, he suffered from severe anxiety. He was chewing up everything in her home - from shoes to comforters to yoga mats. She provided him with what many busy dog parents used back then... compressed rawhides. In 2013, he had surgery for an abscess caused by a sharp piece of rawhide that was embedded in his cheek. Thus began her quest for a safer alternative. She discovered a whole world of natural dog treats. Unfortunately, the majority of the products she found failed to meet her expectations for quality and consistency.
Meanwhile, she was studying Functional Medicine to heal a debilitating joint condition that doctors told her would never heal without surgery. She was a lifelong runner who had been devastated by a failed knee surgery. There had to be a holistic solution to her problem. She was determined to find it. She attended alternative medical conferences. It took 4 years, but through alternative therapies and eating clean, she was able to cure her debilitating joint pain by 80%.
In 2014, when she adopted Lola, she had damage to her lungs from heartworms. Lynette became even more obsessed with feeding her dogs single or limited ingredient dog food and treats. She knew there had to be others who had similar experiences and would love to know they are providing the healthiest treats and chews for their dogs on an ongoing basis.
From 2015 Lynette has built a loyal following of customers who place a high value on her brand because:
She was a real person that loved dogs, not a corporation.
Customers trusted she would not use marketing gimmicks that insulted their intelligence.
She was committed to helping rescues and dogs found in crisis conditions.
She listened to suggestions and adapted to customer's needs.
Customers trust her commitment to buy from manufacturers with strict safety measures in place.
